Our Beautiful New Spaces
In January 2024, students were welcomed into 38,000 square feet of new teaching, learning, and gathering spaces which had been added onto the west end of the existing building.
These spaces include:
6 new classrooms, including a dedicated science classroom,
Collaboration spaces, and Senior and Middle School Hubs,
the addition of a Reading Room to the Lassonde Library,
an art studio,
a suite of administrative offices,
a boardroom,
a renovated rooftop play area,
design and robotics labs, and
a cafeteria
Opening Day Excitement
After a live-streamed ribbon cutting ceremony, excitement filled the air as students followed Penguin, our beloved school mascot, from the Assembly in the Gym along a long and winding route through all 4 levels of the new space.
These spaces simply would not be possible if it were not for the incredible generosity of our community, who supported the vision and plans for this expansion long before shovels were in the ground.
In 2017, St. Clement’s received a truly transformational donation: a leadership gift of over $5 million, from an anonymous donor who has long-shared our commitment to an SCS education.
This amazing contribution, believed to be the largest in Canadian girls’ school history at the time, was the catalyst which started our Campus Master Plan process: thinking and dreaming about what a true urban school campus would look like, right in the heart of Toronto.
With support from current and past parents, current and past staff, alums, and others, the original $18 million campaign goal was exceeded - and strong momentum continues today.
